The directory is organized by state, and larger states may later be divided into regions or cities so the information stays relevant to the people using it. Any selections shown on this site come from independent research and/or nominations. They should never be read as an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of any attorney's or law firm's qualifications, skills, or performance. Titles such as "10 Best," "Our Choice for 10 Best," or similar wording describe our own independent selection process and acceptance criteria, which weigh a variety of factors. They are not a definitive ranking and do not certify that any lawyer or firm is superior to another.
Being included in this directory is not required of any attorney and says nothing about legal ability, effectiveness, or the likelihood of a favorable result in any matter. Attorneys and firms cannot purchase a selection, and nominations cannot be bought. Both free and paid memberships may be offered, but membership is entirely optional and a paid membership has no effect on the selection process. The presence or absence of a lawyer or firm in the directory is not a judgment of their competence; it may simply mean they were not selected or did not accept a membership.
Information shown about listed attorneys is supplied by those attorneys or their representatives. We do not independently verify it, and we make no representations or warranties about its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. If you received a notice from us that you were nominated and would like a free membership, which includes a basic listing in the directory, please contact contact@aioba.org. Attorneys and firms who register for a free or paid membership certify that they are doing so only because of a nomination received from our organization and not through any other means. A paid membership may include added benefits such as greater visibility, plaques, online badges, expanded profile features, and promotional opportunities, but the selection process itself stays independent of any payment. We work to keep directory listings accurate, yet errors or omissions can occur; if you spot an inaccuracy in your listing, please tell us so it can be reviewed and corrected. We may issue national or local press releases, but we cannot guarantee that any media outlet will publish them, since coverage is at each outlet's discretion.
